Sharing Categories & Changing Initial Auto-Category Mappings

1. Sharing / Importing a List of Categories

Feature Description: This feature allows users to share their category schema or list of categories with others, facilitating the sharing and importing of financial tracking categories.

Key Functions:

  • Share Category List:

    • Users can share their category list publicly with an ID.

    • The shared ID can be used by others to import the category list into their profile.

  • Import Category List:

    • Users can import someone else's category list directly into their profile using the shared ID.

Steps to Share a Category List:

  1. Navigate to the 'Categories' section in your profile.

  2. Click on the share button in the top right.

  3. Copy the generated share ID.

  4. Share the ID with others.

Steps to Import a Category List:

  1. Obtain the shared ID from the person whose category list you want to import.

  2. Navigate to the 'Categories' section in your profile.

  3. Click on 'Import Categories.'

  4. Enter the shared ID and confirm.

2. Custom Setting for AI-Classifications (Auto-Categorizations) for New Categories

Feature Description: When a new transaction is populated in Fina, the system auto-categorizes it based on a pre-set mapping schema of default categories. This feature allows users to customize the AI-classifications.

Key Functions:

  • Auto-Categorization:

    • The system makes an initial guess on the appropriate category for new transactions based on the pre-set mapping schema.

  • Custom Mapping:

    • Users can re-map the AI-classifications to align with their customized or renamed categories.

Steps to Customize AI-Classifications:

  1. Navigate to the 'AI-Classifications' section in your profile settings.

  2. Select the category you wish to customize.

  3. Update the mapping schema to reflect your preferred category names or structure.

  4. Save the changes.

Additional Features:

  • Snapshot Functionality:

    • Users can take a snapshot of their category list to revert back if needed.
